The night of museums in Barcelona: La Nit dels Museus
The Long Night of the Museums is going to take place on 14th May, this year 2011. Museums all around Europe will be opened to the public for free. The first Long Night of Museums was celebrated in Berlin, the capital of Germany, in 1997. Since then, many European countries have joined this event which has also crossed the Atlantic to get to Argentina, where is celebrated since 2004 in Buenos Aires.... Don't ask for bullgfight in Barcelona . I'm afraid this is old-fashioned and Barcelona citizens prefer going shopping. In fact, Barcelona is one of the Anti-bullfighting cities existing in the world and only the Monumental bullring is still active, although not for a long time. Hundreds of buildings of 4,500 cities in 135 countries worldwide turned their lights off during the Earth Hour which took place on March 26 between 20:30 and 21:30. It was a symbol against the climate change. This campaign was promoted by the World Wildlife Fund and has been happening year after year.
